Greater Manchester Northwest LGBT Support Network
Put simply(ish)… we exist to try to encourage better communication and information flow in the hope that we, by helping to promote other organisations and services, can improve the lives of LGBT people and allies living or working across the Greater Manchester region, also spanning Cheshire before the North West and further afield.
The feedback we have received from attendees at the prides we have organised or from the information we have put out through various channels has been extremely positive, supportive and instils a strong sense of belief in our objectives. We also want to try and contribute to the way people think, in all areas of society, and assist in abolishing the stigma that still exists around LGBT people the stereotypical perceptions of their lifestyles and why they behave the way they do. If our presence helps to support, improve and advise the lives of one or a few people, we feel that justifies our existence.
As well as a presence online and in the community, our online database will soon be launched in order to serve as a directly accessible facility whereby people who are struggling to come to terms with who they are or just yearn to know about the social alternatives available to them in and around where they live can easily search keywords and become aware of social groups that link to an interest of theirs and organisations that provide vital valuable support. We support anyone regardless of their background, gender, sexuality, race or ability.
